Privacy notice
Last updated: 2 September 2026
Pilcrow is a service of DigitiNexus LLC, a Delaware limited liability company at 262 Chapman Rd, Ste 240, Newark, DE 19702. DigitiNexus LLC decides why and how the information described here is used, and is responsible for it. This notice covers this website. It does not cover the wider company, which has its own notice at digitinexus.com.
The short version
- This site sets no cookies of its own. There is nothing to consent to, which is why there is no banner.
- We count page views with a tool that uses no cookies and builds no profile of you.
- We ask for two things, and only if you want the free report: a website address and an email.
- We do not sell your information, and we do not hand it to anyone to use for their own purposes.
- One thing here is not ours: open the booking calendar and the company behind it sets its own cookies.
When you are only reading
Our host records the usual server log for every request: the address your connection comes from, which page you asked for, the time, and what browser said it was asking. That is how a web server works and how we notice an outage or an attack. We do not use those logs to work out who you are.
We also count page views, with Plausible. It sets no cookies, it stores nothing on your device, it does not follow you to other websites, and it does not build a profile. It tells us that a page was read, roughly from where and roughly from what, and nothing that points at a person. The data sits in the European Union.
When you run the free report
You give us a website address first, then an email. We use the address to run the questions and the email to send you the result. That is the whole purpose, and we will not put you on a list for anything else without asking you first. If you stop after the first step we still run it, and there is simply nowhere to send it.
We keep the address and the result so that a second report can be compared with the first, which is the only way to show whether anything moved. We keep the email for as long as we are talking to you, and for two years after the last time we did. Ask us sooner and we will delete it sooner.
When you book a walkthrough
The calendar on this site is Calendly's, embedded. It loads only when it comes into view, and once it loads it sets its own cookies and receives whatever you type into it: your name, your email, and the time you chose. Calendly is the one holding that, under its own privacy notice. We see the same three things in the confirmation, and we use them to turn up to the call.
When you write to us
Email us and we keep your message so we can answer it, the way anyone keeps an email. Our mailbox runs on Google Workspace. Message us on WhatsApp and the message travels through WhatsApp, which is Meta's, under their terms; the conversation then sits on our phone.
What stays in your own browser
The question box on the homepage remembers what you typed into it, so it is still there if you come back, and it remembers that you have already opened an AI system once so the page can greet you differently when you return. Those three values live in your browser's own storage, on your device. They are never sent to us and we cannot read them. Clearing your browsing data removes them.
Everyone outside the company who touches any of this
| Who | Where | What for |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel Inc. | United States | Hosting. Serves every page and keeps short-lived server logs. |
| Plausible Analytics | European Union | Page views, in aggregate. No cookies and no cross-site profile. |
| Calendly LLC | United States | The booking calendar. Only loads when you open it. |
| Google LLC | United States | The mailbox behind our address, if you write to us. |
| WhatsApp Ireland Ltd. | Ireland and United States | Carries your message if you use the WhatsApp link. |
Some of these are in the United States, so information about you can be handled there. Where the law requires a legal basis for that transfer, we rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, which these companies publish as part of their terms.
What we never do
- No advertising pixels, no retargeting, no tracking you from one site to the next.
- No selling or renting your information, and no sharing it for anyone else's advertising.
- No accounts on this site, no passwords, and no payment details taken here.
- No adding you to a mailing list because you asked for something else.
Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@pilcrow.consulting and we will answer within thirty days. We will not charge you and we will not treat you differently for asking.
In the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area you also have the right to object to processing, to ask us to restrict it, to have your information handed to you in a portable form, and to complain to your national data protection authority. In California you have the right to know what is collected and why, to have it deleted, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those words are defined there, so there is nothing to opt out of, and we do not respond to Global Privacy Control signals for the simple reason that there is nothing for them to switch off.
How long we keep things
- Server logs: about thirty days, then they are gone.
- Page view counts: aggregate from the start, with nothing in them that points at a person.
- Report requests and results: three years, so a later report can be compared with an earlier one.
- Emails and messages: while we are talking, and two years after we stop.
Children
This is a service sold to businesses. It is not for anyone under 16 and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone that age. If you think a child has sent us something, write to us and we will delete it.
Security, honestly stated
Everything travels encrypted, access is limited to the two of us, and we keep as little as we can get away with, which is the only security measure that always works. No system is perfect and we are not going to claim ours is.
Changes
If this changes we will change the date at the top. If a change matters, meaning we would start collecting something new or using something for a new reason, we will say so on the page and email anyone whose address we already hold.
